The month of January seems to be flying by, but it has been a very productive week in the studio. After the move and the holidays, it was a little tough for me to get rolling again, but now I have a renewed sense of purpose.
The above panel is a 11″ x 14″ Ampersand Gessobord, and I plan to have it done by next Thursday’s post. Most of my most recent pieces have consisted of overlapping rings. This is a slightly new direction for me, and it’s something that just occurred on its own – a natural progression in the work.
I have decided to give the above 24″ x 24″ Sunfire canvas two companion pieces. The two will be of the same size and the design will be slightly updated and modified so that they all go well together. I sketched out the first canvas today and will start working on it after I finish the panel that I am working on now.
I know I have been singing the praises of the Gessobord panels lately, and that I would have an aversion to going back to canvas. That is true, but the fact is right now that I don’t have any panels in stock. So, until I can get some new supplies in, and for the sake of keeping the momentum going, I am going to use some canvas that I have on hand. It will be a good change of pace for the time being.
I have a new post over on the Wall Spin blog this week. It’s entitled 10 Ways to Make a New St (ART), and in it, I give some great suggestions on how to bring art into your lives each and every day. I hope you enjoy it!
Until next Thursday’s post, have a great weekend, and thank you for stopping by!
